1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the Subworkit Contracting website or engaging our construction and contracting services, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Subworkit Contracting is a licensed California contractor (License #945572) serving San Diego County and Southern California.

2. California Contractor Licensing

Subworkit Contracting holds California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) License #945572. All work performed is in compliance with California Business and Professions Code Division 3, Chapter 9 (Contractors). You may verify our license status at cslb.ca.gov.

3. Service Area

We provide construction, renovation, and home improvement services throughout San Diego County, including but not limited to: San Diego, Chula Vista, Oceanside, Escondido, Carlsbad, El Cajon, La Mesa, National City, Poway, Santee, Encinitas, La Jolla, Del Mar, and Coronado.

4. Estimates and Contracts

Per California law (Business and Professions Code Section 7159), all home improvement contracts over $500 must be in writing. Our contracts include:

  • Detailed scope of work with materials and specifications
  • Total contract price or method of calculating final cost
  • Approximate start and completion dates
  • Payment schedule (deposits limited to 10% or $1,000, whichever is less, per California law)
  • Change order procedures
  • Three-day right to cancel notice as required by law

Estimates are provided in good faith based on information available at the time. Final costs may vary due to unforeseen conditions, material price changes, or scope modifications approved by the client.

5. Permits and Inspections

Subworkit Contracting obtains all required building permits from the City of San Diego Development Services Department or applicable jurisdiction. Permit fees are typically included in project estimates unless otherwise noted. We coordinate all required inspections and provide copies of final inspection approvals upon project completion.

6. Payment Terms

California law regulates contractor payment schedules. We accept payment by check, credit card, or ACH transfer. Payment schedules are structured as follows:

  • Deposit: Up to 10% of contract price or $1,000, whichever is less (per B&P Code 7159.5)
  • Progress payments: Tied to completed milestones
  • Final payment: Due upon completion and client walkthrough

We do not request payment for work not yet performed. Mechanics lien rights apply per California Civil Code Sections 8400-8494.

7. Warranty

Subworkit Contracting provides a one-year workmanship warranty on all labor performed. This warranty covers defects in installation or craftsmanship. Manufacturer warranties on materials and fixtures are passed through to the client and vary by product. Warranty claims must be submitted in writing within the warranty period.

Warranties do not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage from misuse, neglect, or acts of nature
  • Work performed by others after project completion
  • Pre-existing conditions not addressed in the scope of work

8. Insurance

Subworkit Contracting maintains general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage as required by California law. Certificates of insurance are available upon request prior to project commencement.

9. Dispute Resolution

We are committed to resolving any concerns promptly and professionally. If a dispute arises:

  3. If unresolved, mediation through the Better Business Bureau or CSLB dispute resolution services is available

California law provides additional remedies through the Contractors State License Board: Filing a Complaint.

10. Limitation of Liability

Subworkit Contracting's liability for any claim arising from services rendered shall not exceed the total contract amount paid for the specific project in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Website Use

The Subworkit Contracting website is provided for informational purposes. Project photos and descriptions represent completed work but do not guarantee identical results for your project. The construction cost estimator provides rough estimates only and does not constitute a binding quote.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, photographs, designs, and logos, is the property of Subworkit Contracting and protected by copyright law. Project photos may not be reproduced without written permission.

13. Privacy

Your personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy. We do not sell client information to third parties.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any legal action shall be brought in San Diego County Superior Court.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when changes were last made. Continued use of our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
